After a slow start to the game in which they allowed Indiana to draw first blood, Michigan beared down and scored 52 unanswered points en route to a 52-7 thrashing of the Hoosiers. The win brings the Wolverines to 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in conference play.
Michigan’s defense continues to be the strength of this team, picking off Indiana quarterback Tayven Jackson twice, and only allowing 232 yards of total offense. In six of the seven games the team has played this season, they’ve allowed seven points or less. The lone outlier coming in a win against Minnesota, where the team still only allowed 10 points.
On the other side, J.J. McCarthy continues to have the offense clicking. He had a nearly perfect day, going 14 of 17 for 222 yards and three touchdowns. While running back Blake Corum continued his rampant touchdown pace, scoring two more to bring his season total to 12.
Next up is a rivalry week for Michigan as they head to East Lansing for a matchup with in-state rival Michigan State in Saturday night primetime. The Spartans are 2-4 and 0-3 in conference play.
