Michigan played a nearly perfect football game under the lights in East Lansing, as they defeated the Michigan State Spartans 49-0 to get to 8-0 on the season.

After receiving the opening kickoff, quarterback J.J. McCarthy engineered a 12 play, 84 yard drive that ended in running back Blake Corum punching in his nation leading 13th touchdown. From there, Michigan proceeded to tack on another six touchdowns while keeping the Spartans off the scoreboard. McCarthy continued his stellar play, ending the night with 287 yards and four touchdowns.

The Wolverines defense, which is the best in the nation, also continued to shine. They forced two interceptions, including one that was returned for a touchdown, and also tacked on three sacks.

Michigan has a bye this week, before they welcome the 2-5 Purdue Boilermakers for a Big 10 matchup on November 4th at The Big House.
