The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) recently updated their labor force and employment related data for Ann Arbor. This most recent labor force data includes an analysis of employment statistics through March 2022.
Some key figures for the region relate to the overall fall in unemployment from roughly 9,106 unemployed in March 2021 to 6,142 unemployed in March 2022, bringing down the unemployment rate from 4.8 percent to 3.1 percent over 12 months.
Total Nonfarm employment (in departments such as mining, transportation, education, hospitality, etc) also grew from about 180,608 to 193,033, demonstrating the increase in employment rate.
